MEDFORD — Mayor Chris Myers has resigned from office in the wake of a public allegation that he paid for sex and after criticism from residents over his attendance record.

MEDFORD — Mayor Chris Myers Some residents attending council meetings had called for the mayor’s resignation since Oct. 21, when the allegation was first reported by the Burlington County Times. A now-inoperable website containing photographs presumed to be Myers in his underwear alleged that he paid a male escort for sex during a trip to California more than a year ago.
